Is yoga beneficial for knee pain?
There are various different kinds of treatments and procedures that are available to help in treating knee pain. You could opt either for pain relievers, physical therapy and if the condition is serious enough, even surgery.
However there are certain poses in yoga that are useful in alleviating knee pain and strengthening the knee joints. These are low intensity exercises. The simplest pose in yoga for knee pain relief is the Corpse pose or Shavasana. In order to perform this pose you will need to lie on your back on a smooth surface with their arms resting by the side and their palms facing towards the sky. Next stretch your body in a way that involves them stretching your pelvic region lower and their shoulders upwards towards their ears. Leg raises are also useful in alleviating any knee discomfort. While lying on your back, you should start by inhaling and then raising their right leg first as high as it will go. Exhale while lowering the leg and repeat with the next leg. You can also try the wind relieving position which involves lying flat on your back with your knees folded back on to the stomach. Wrapping your hands round your knee, try to raise your head to the knee.

Acupuncture for knee pain?
Acupuncture was first used in the country China. Many people believe that disease can be prevented and cured through the insertion of special needles that are ultra fine. These needles are inserted into different parts of the body by people who are specialists, and are trained in this procedure. The procedure of acupuncture works on the premise that these needles that have been inserted in to the body will then go on to encourage the body to develop and produce their own pain killers. This will then help in accelerating the healing process. Some of the maladies that are said to be treatable by acupuncture include menstrual cramps, knee pain, earaches, sore throat, high blood pressure, stroke and also constipation. Acupuncture is quite often used in conjunction with conventional medicine to achieve success from knee pain. Some of the acupuncture points for knee pain would consist of points that are there just around the knee area and also the foot. Some other points may even be in the remoter areas of the body. The treatment can vary from one patient to the next and also can vary depending on the practitioner and the way the treatment is conducted. There are different kinds of acupuncture including Manual Acupuncture and Auricular Acupuncture.
