Health advice on bacterial vaginosis-

Vaginitis, as the name indicates, is the inflammation of the vagina. This condition is accompanied by irritation, itching, bad odor or discharge. Mostly, it is an asymptomatic condition, wherein the symptoms are not visualized.

Chlamydia is the causative organism. The issue begins at the vagina and slowly proceeds further to the other reproductive organs, such as fallopian tubes, ovaries and uterus. Infertility and other major problems also arise due to vaginitis. Other causes include allergy vaginal cancer, frequent intercourse, unhygienic condition, trichomaniasis, candidiasis, bacterial vaginosis and excessive masturbation. Hygiene plays a vital role in preventing such disorders. Wiping the private areas well is equally important. Wearing clean undergarments is also an effective way of prevention. A warm bath without soap is helpful. Usage of clean bath tubs is necessary. Yoghurt is a good remedy for bacterial infection, as acidophilus in yoghurt create a poor environment to the bacteria. Itching is avoided by soaking a tea bag in water and cooling the same. It is used as an effective wash. Placing a cold compress prevents reddening and vaginal itching, as it constricts the blood vessels. Avoid tight undergarments and cotton ones are preferred.
