Tubercle bacillus is the culprit behind tuberculosis infection. It takes the nasal route to enter the body and proliferates in the lungs. They produce tubercles, which are minor red spots.


Consumption of bottle gourd improves the immune function and thereby hastens recovery. Regular consumption of a tablespoon of gooseberry juice with honey is helpful. A glass of pineapple juice in an empty stomach works wonders! Bananas are also helpful in treating tuberculosis. Antibiotics are effective against tuberculosis. Calcium in the diet also hastens recovery. A handful of raisins are boiled with the pulp of two custard apples. It is boiled to one third of its contents. Cinnamon, cardamom and sugar are added to the same. Refined foods and processed starchy foods are avoided. Avoid pickles, caffeinated beverages, sauces, condiments and pickles. Immunity is enhanced by taking bottle gourd in the diet. Mint and carrot juice with vinegar also helps. Drumstick leaves soup made with pepper, lime juice and salt proves beneficial. A tablespoon of honey and a pinch of salt are added to a glass of orange juice.
