Treatment for sty -

Placement of a warm tea bag is one of the most simple and easily accessible home remedy. Using warm salt water as a rinse is an effective remedy. Warm a moist cotton cloth and place it on the eyes.

This aids in mucus removal. A teaspoon of triphala is mixed in a glass of boiled and cooled water. It is left overnight and used as a rinse.

Alum water rinse is also an effective remedy. Potato paste is applied as a poultice on a cloth. A teaspoon of coriander seeds are boiled in a cup of water and used as an eye wash. Ground garlic is applied over the sty, with eyes closed. Cut garlic can be applied over the sty, as an alternative. A mixture of salt in warm water is dropped on the sty once in every half an hour. Dab cotton, dipped in warm chamomile tea on the sty. A decoction of acacia leaves is equally helpful. Turmeric paste also proves beneficial. Sharing of personal objects, such as towel is avoided, as styes are contagious.
