Home remedies for indigestion
  • Soak a few pieces of ginger in lemon juice 1 hour before your meals. Chew on them half an hour after your meals. You can also grate ginger and extract its juice.

Mix ½ tsp of lemon juice and take it after your meals. You can also take 1 tsp of lime juice in the morning on an empty stomach.
  • Add 1 tsp of lemon juice in 1 glass of warm water and drink it immediately after getting up in the morning.

This aids digestion and prevents gas from forming in the stomach.

  • Drink plenty of water, fruit juices and vegetable soups.
  • Sip buttermilk along with your meals and drink 2 or 3 glasses of coconut water which cools the stomach.
  • Drink chamomile tea, eat yogurt and chew carom seeds seeds after your meals.
  • Avoid tea, coffee, fats, spices, red meat, white flour, processed foods, aerated drinks, alcohol and smoking.
  • Exercise regularly, do deep breathing and take a stroll half an hour before going to sleep.
  • Never lie down immediately after eating or do strenuous work.
  • Eat fruits, raw vegetable salads, lean meat, fish, skim milk, brown rice, brown sugar, cereals and whole wheat products.
