Treatment for head bump

I had a severe bump on my head from a fall. My face became bruised but I still have a dark discoloration on the right cheekbone. I am 65 and healthy. What can I do?

Natural treatment for discoloration
  • Discoloration is due to internal bleeding and clotting. You can do alternate cold and hot compress on your bruise. Crush some ice and put it in a plastic bag.

Place it over the bruise and press it till you can bear the cold. Do this for 5 to 7 minutes and the take a hot water bag or warm a soft napkin and do hot compress over the discoloration. This will regulate the blood flow and remove the discoloration.

Do this process 3 to 4 times a day.
  • Apply the homeopathic medicine Arnica, its cream or gel to the discolored area 3- times a day. If you get pain, take 3 pills of this medicine 3 times a day.
  • You can also try spreading some margarine on the area once daily for 3-4 days.
  • Apply a slice of raw onion, apple cider vinegar, cold water or comfrey tea over the bruise.
  • Eat plenty of vitamin C rich foods like citrus fruits, cauliflower, broccoli and sweet potatoes.
  • Avoid dairy products, include onions and garlic in your diet and drink lots of fluids.
  • Discontinue smoking as it may hamper blood supply.
  • Take vitamin K or alfalfa tablets.
  • Apply I part of cayenne pepper and 5 parts of melted Vaseline on the bruise once daily.
