Considering the fact that you suffer from muscle stiffness and tightness, it would be necessary that you seek an immediate cure for multiple sclerosis. Your daily schedule and performance of daily activities can also go out of sync due to this condition and the effects it has on the body. It is important to note that these symptoms may also worsen when the muscles are exposed to heat or humidity.

Besides medical intervention, there are some natural remedies that are known to help with spasticity in those affected by multiple sclerosis. They include the following:
  • Yoga – Regular practice of yoga is known to diminish muscle tiredness and improve limb movements in those affected with multiple sclerosis. However it is advisable to avoid hot yoga, which is a type of yoga that involves practice of exercises in high temperatures. This may aggravate the symptoms of multiple sclerosis.
  • Exercise – Other forms of exercise are also helpful in alleviating muscle stiffness and tightness. Health experts often recommend exercises such as walking or water aerobics as these are gentler on the body and do not lead to fatigue. Daily stretching is also beneficial in relieving muscle spasticity.
  • Massage – Muscle cramps and stiffness is known to reduce significantly through massage therapy. Whether massage helps to ease symptoms of multiple sclerosis is not very clear, but such therapy does benefit individuals who suffer from discomfort in the muscles.
  • Acupuncture – This is an age-old alternative therapy which involves stimulation of the pressure points in the body. Although there is not much scientific evidence to support the effects of acupuncture, there are many individuals who obtain relief from it.
It is best to discuss treatment for muscle spasticity with your doctor. Even if you decide to opt for natural remedies, it is advisable to consult your doctor first.
