Health advice for piles
  • You should avoid all spices and hot foods as they generate heat and might increase the bleeding. A fiber rich diet is very essential for keeping your bowels clear and to avoid constipation. Eat fruits, green leafy vegetables, cereals, nuts, yogurt and whole wheat grains regularly.

  • Green juices and wheat grass juice provides necessary nutrients to the body and aid digestion.
  • Drink at least 1 liter of water everyday. Sip on buttermilk during your meals and drink coconut water 2 to 3 times a day.
  • Avoid junk foods, fats, processed foods, white rice, white flour, cakes, sweets, pastries, pies, alcohol, tea, coffee, red meat and animal protein.
  • You can have brown rice, brown sugar and pulses as your staple diet.
  • You can go on an all fruit diet for 3 or 4 days. Then include vegetables and salads, buttermilk and juices.
  • Raw vegetables provide roughage which helps in easy passage of stool thus preventing constipation which is the main reason for piles.
  • Do not smoke or go hungry for long periods of time.
  • Eat 5 or 6 smaller meals instead of larger ones.
  • Take warm water baths and never strain to clear your bowels.
  • Exercise regularly and avoid taking stress as it hampers the digestion process.
