It depends on the age of your son. The cough and ear ache together are indicative of a ear, nose and throat infection. Does your son cough only when he is laying down or all the time.
how long ago did this start. Does the child have a raised temprature. these are the questions that need to be answered before a remedy can be recommended. I can suggest giving him honey to soothe the throat, and take him immediately to a health care provider to have his throat and ear checked for infections, and also check if he has a post nasal drip.
