Treatment for open boils

After your boil has opened what is the required treatment?

When a boil has already burst, it should be squeezed gently to drain the pus and cleaned to avoid further spreading of the infection.
Apply calamine lotion or vitamin E cream to the open area. This will fasten the healing period and minimize the chances of getting marks caused due to boils.
Aloe vera gel is also very effective in a similar manner. Avoid scratching with nails on the open boils as this can cause the infection to spread.
Have a balanced diet focusing more on whole wheat products, fresh fruits and dark green leafy vegetables and lots of water. Minimize the intake of tea, coffee, sugar, sweets, pickles, oily/fried foods, junk foods, processed foods and refined flour (maida based products) to avoid formation of boils in future.
