Treatment for shoulder injury

Shoulder injuries are a tricky business. Without a proper medical consultation, you will have no idea how serious it is or not. So if you shoulder has been giving you trouble for over a week, you must get it checked by a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and proceed with medical treatment accordingly.


You can also employ some simple and effective home remedies to get rid of the pain and discomfort. The affected area can be massaged with warm olive oil. Eucalyptus, mustard or sesame oil work equally well for the same purpose.


If you have a swollen shoulder, you can use ice packs regularly. This will help bring down the swelling and also provide some relief. At night, it is advisable to have a warm bath and then go to bed immediately after. The warmth from the bath will help relax and soothe muscles through the night. If you have ascertained that it is a muscular injury, apply castor oil and use a hot pack over it; this will help is quicker healing of the injury. A paste made with sandalwood powder and rose water can be applied to the affected area for soothing and cooling relief from the pain.
