Poultice can be a soft heated mass of clay or metal which is to be spread on cloth. This cloth can be then applied on the skin to improve circulation or to treat inflamed areas on the skin. Poultice can be of various types, an herbal poultice can also be made by combining herbs according to the use.
Remember that a poultice should not be reused and preferably the inner contents should not be cold. Also don’t apply a poultice on an open wound.
