Urticaria is generally caused by direct contact with an allergenic substance, or an immune response to food or some other allergn. You should avoid foods that may cause the allergic reaction such as dairy products, nuts, any type of fish, or soy.

There are several different causes besides food which are likely for developing urticaria. It is best to go on a temporary elimination diet and observe closely which foods may be the culprits in your case. Remember that "Elimination diets" should be taken only for a short term, under medical supervision and only for very good reasons. Extended periods of restricted diets can cause nutritional deficiencies and malnutrition.
