I am a 22 year old suffering from hirutism, mild anxiety & fatigue - How can I treat it?

Excess production of the hormone androgen causes hirsutism and related symptoms. Medical conditions like PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and Cushing's disease are responsible for increasing the levels of androgen in the body. Therefore, it is common for women with hirsutism to experience other symptoms like fatigue, anxiety and even weight gain in most cases. Although there is no permanent cure for hirsutism, there are a number of simple remedies you can try at home to help reduce the symptoms of this condition naturally. You can safely use these remedies in addition to the medications or drugs your doctor prescribes.

  • You can apply a paste of water, lemon, and sugar on the unwanted hair on your face or body and leave it on for 10-15 minutes before washing it off. Do this twice a week as a natural treatment for hirsutism.
  • Similarly, you can also apply a mixture of milk and turmeric powder to the face and scrub it off on drying. Then rinse your face with cold water.
  • You can prepare a face pack with one egg white, half a tablespoon of corn flour and a tablespoon of sugar. Apply this on your face and peel it off after it dries. You can repeat this 3-4 times a week to get rid of unwanted hair on the face or body.

There are also a few natural ingredients that can internally help correct hormonal imbalances in women. Some of these are as under:

  • Spearmint tea is very beneficial in lowering the levels of androgen in the female body. You can drink this herbal tea regularly to alleviate symptoms of hirsutism.
  • Herbal teas of black cohosh, chaste tree, and saw palmetto are also very effective in the treatment of hormonal imbalances.
  • You can also try acupuncture for relief from anxiety and fatigue.
