This is a very frequent occurrence and makes one feel pretty gross. There are many things you can do to change the PH of your nail bed naturally and fight the fungus. Some of these things are:
  1. Wash your nails, especially the base, with white vinegar several times daily.

Use cotton swabs and use one per toe to avoid spreading the injection around.
  2. Soak your feet in warm water with 15 to 20 drops of tea tree oil, tea tree oil is natures most effective anti fungal.
  3. Apply coconut oil to the base of your toenail daily.

It is very important that you stick with your treatment and keep doing it every day, without fail. It takes six months for the healthy nail to grow in place of the infected nail. So it is important that you do this treatment during the six months it takes for your new nail to grow in, but also to continue the treatment for three months after your new nails are fully in place.  If you fail to keep your treatment regular, you will keep having the problem of the nail fungus returning…thus you will have to treat the problem far longer in the end than if you stuck with it the first time around. This is the most common reason why treatments for nail fungus do not work.
