Treatment for whiteheads

What can I do to prevent and get rid of whiteheads? Can you also recommend me a "home-remedy" for whiteheads? Thank you!

With whiteheads, it is important to realize that you need to treat your whole skin, not just the isolated whiteheads themselves.  This will prevent them from happening.  First, you must set yourself on a good skin care schedule of washing your face with warm water and face soap twice daily to remove excess oils and dirt.

Do not scrub your face as this can harm the skin. Instead of rubbing your face dry with a towel, gently pat it dry. After you wash your face, use a cotton ball dipped in pure Witch Hazel as an astringent to help keep oils at bay. Only use oil free moisturizers on your face.  To get rid of them it is very important for you to NOT POP THEM, regardless of how tempting this idea might be. This can lead to infection and scaring.  Treat each one individually with a cotton swab dipped in Tea Tree Oil until they go away which should be within 24 hours.  Diet can also lead to skin problems, so it is important for you to drink plenty of water and avoid chocolate and sodas as these have been proven to cause breakouts. Fresh fruits and vegetables also help to keep your skin healthy and looking good!
