Why are my eyes red or sensitive to flourescet light?
(25 Aug 2007)
Intolerance to light is referred to as photophobia or light sensitivity. Pain or discomfort to bright light results in closing of eyes or squinting. It is more common in individuals suffering from migraine, cataract or those with light colored eyes.
Retinal detachment, sun burn, irritation due to contact lenses are also causative factors. Wide brimmed hats with glasses are a good option. Take the guidance of an ophthalmologist.
