This is a very common thing, often referred to as snoring. It affects one in every three people, world wide. It is most often attributed to weight related problems. If you are over weight, you need to lose some weight to make breathing easier. Some other things that will help are sleeping on your side, this will naturally encourage you to breath through your nose instead of your mouth. Breathing through your mouth is what makes the loud noises. Also, avoiding alcohol, coffee, and tobacco products is a must to breathe easier and have a better sleep. Try to eat earlier in the day, instead of just before bed time. Try to allow at least three hours between your evening meal and the time you go to bed. This will help deal with the problem by relieving some of the pressure on the heart and lungs while you sleep. Try to avoid taking sleep medications as this can make the problem worse. If you have a problem sleeping, take some Valerian which is an herb that will help you relax. A very simple thing that works is to take a warm bath right before you go to bed. This helps your body relax and eliminates some hypertension you might be experiencing. Hypertension is also a major contributor to snoring or loud breathing when you are asleep.
