Ear wax could be a very irritating problem and cause a lot of discomfort to any individual. To effectively remove ear wax at home it is safe to use ear drops which are made to soften ear wax. These medications are sold over the counter and do not need a prescription. You may also need a rubberized bulb which will help to flush out the residue. A syringe can also be used to flush out the wax after it has been softened with fresh clean water. You may even find a lump of wax on your pillow in the morning!

There are many causes for ear blockages like allergies, the common cold, sinus or ear infection, water entering into the ear, air pressure changes in an aero plane or even a large amount of ear wax. Though these problems are not permanent they can be very annoying and uncomfortable. To get rid of ear block because of a sinus problem or air pressure swallowing several times can open up the blockage or at release it temporarily. Yawning with your mouth open as big as possible is another effective way of clearing a blockage. Putting a warm compress on the ear helps or even doing an inhalation with steaming hot water with your head covered with a towel.

Excessive secretion of ear wax results in blockage of ear. Flushing the ear with warm water helps. Rinsing the ear with hydrogen peroxide or cider vinegar is recommended under the guidance of a physician. An ENT might help you better!
