Home remedy for turkey lice

Turkey lice are more of a nuisance than a menace. If you find an infestation, it is imperative to get rid of it as soon as possible otherwise there is the fear of any lice infestation spreading. Once it spreads, a louse infestation can actually get completely out of hand and may require serious remedial measures to remove.

Therefore, your best bet is to arrest the problem before it starts. One of the most popular and effective remedies for getting rid of lice infestations of any kind is to apply shaving cream to the general area of the infestation. This has to be done for at least a week.

In all probability, you will see results much before, but just to be on the safe side, you must continue for a whole week to make sure you are completely rid of the infestation. Mayonnaise is another effective measure to get rid of lice. Run it deep into the patches where the infestation is strongest. This will actually work within a couple of days, and you will find that the lice are completely gone in that short a time. You can also mix equal parts of mineral oil and vinegar and apply this to infested areas. This is also an effective remedial measure. A few drops of tea tree oil to the liquid soap or shampoo currently in use will also do the trick.
