Causes of anal abscesses-

1. There are glands surrounding the anus. These glands plug up together leading to infection .


There is development of pus in these glands. This pus spreads inward and around the anus and rectum leading to collection and abscess formation. There may be a fistula formation at the side of the anal opening.

2. The main causes are Diabetes, HIV infections, Crohn's disease people who have immuno suppressive drugs like steroids or those who undergo chemotherapy for cancers.
