How does (sweets) such as pastries like cake, & pies affect High Blood pressure

A diet containing large amounts of sweets such as pastries, cakes and pies could have an adverse effect on blood pressure. Since the aforementioned foods contain large amounts of sugar, gorging on them is sure to make you put on excessive weight. A higher weight means your heart needs to work harder to supply blood all over the body.
Another culprit here is the large amount of sodium that these foods contain. The body finds it difficult to dispose of extra sodium which causes more water to be drawn from the body tissues into the blood stream increasing the blood volume. An increase in blood volume means more work for the heart and a resultant increase in the blood pressure.
