Remedy to treat corns
I am writing this for my mother whose 87 years old and is having problems with corns between her little toe. She says it is very painful to walk, and refuses to see a doctor. Can you suggest a quick home remedy that we can try? Thx

Corns Treatments Corns are thickening of the skin on the toed between the joints of the toes and on the sole of the feet. This occurs due to increased pressure of the toes and surface of the skin of the feet. Corns can be painful and inflamed.
This gets developed due to tight shoes, wrong style of walking or applying pressure on certain areas of the feet.
Remedies to treat corns are:
- Apply 1\2 teaspoon of milky juice of green figs on the corns. This can be useful in the long run.
- Tie a fresh slice of lemon on the painful corn in the night before going to bed.
- Soak bruised ivy leaves in vinegar overnight. Soak bread in this vinegar and apply on the corn. Leave it for the whole day and prepare fresh application for the night. This can be done till the corn is completely treated.
- Apply 1\2 teaspoon raw papaya juice on the corn thrice a day daily.

Remedy to treat corns Corns are hardened skin that may or may not be painful. In this case they are painful so try soaking the feet in a warm bath. Once the skin has softened gently scrub it with pumice stone without abrading the surrounding areas. Apply some castor oil to the corn 2-3 times a day. Keep the corn covered by a bandage or socks to make sure the oil has time to be absorbed. This can bring about a change when done consistently over a few weeks. If raw papaya is available you could try an application of raw papaya juice to the corn and keeping it covered as the juice soaks in. Another home remedy to try is liquorice. Make a paste of liquorice and mustard oil and apply it to the corns, again assuring that the area is then covered with a bandage or soft sock. Soaking apple cider vinegar in a square of gauze or cotton and then placing it over the corn can help extract the root of the corn and it will also heal gently over time.
Avoid wearing constricting shoes or stockings. Opt for open-toed, soft-soled shoes with thick socks to cushion the feet. Also avoid corn plasters as they can restrict blood flow, which is harmful to diabetics or those suffering from other circulation illnesses.
