Prednisone has some very serious side effects that may very well out weigh its benefits. Some of the side effects are: increased appetite and weight gain, indigestion, nervousness or restlessness, changes of skin color, lighter or darker,  faintness, face looking and feeling flush, hiccups that do not stop,   sweating, blurred vision and blindness, pain in the eyes and sensitivity to light, continued abdominal pain ,  acne both on the face and the body, changing bowel movements, including bloody stool, facial swelling, irregular heartbeat, menstrual problems and hormone imbalance, muscle cramps and joint pain, general weakness, nausea and vomiting, and insomnia.

Prednisone also has the effect of making your body somewhat dependent on it, this means that it may take up to a year for your body to adjust when you stop the medication.

If the medication is not stopped or managed properly, it can have long lasting side effects that may never go away.  Taking Prednisone is not something to be started lightly. Talk to your natural health specialist about natural alternatives for your unique problem.

Be sure you always follow a healthy diet with good vitamin and herbal supplementation for overall health and to encourage your body to heal itself.
