Well, there are numerous factors that can be attributed to weight gain after discontinuing a regular workout. Chief among them is the fact that lack of physical activity can cause the body to become sluggish and go slow in metabolism thus adding on the pounds. Moreover if an individual is not careful about his / her diet, that factor can also play a major role in determining weight gain.
At the end of the day, it all depends upon the individual to make sure that a daily home workout replaces the workout at a gymnasium.
A brisk walk in the park or a short jog can replace cardiovascular activity in the gym and with the help of a few dumbbells; resistance training at home can be introduced. It is common to see most people enroll in a gym in full gusto and discontinue it after having acquired their desired weight results.
As a result the body does not readily adapt to the conditions set by the individual and lack of physical activity experienced by the body can lead to rapid weight gain. Hence it is prudent to continue some form of exercise even after discontinuing a workout at the gym. Your choice of an exercise schedule is an important one, and it may be difficult in the earlier stages. However take the right decision with the help of a qualified dietician. Another important rule of thumb is that a good weight loss exercise program goes hand-in-hand with a healthy dietary program. This guideline is crucial for all those who wish to maintain their current weight or lose weight.
There are many alternatives to a gymnasium. Practicing yoga is a safe and good exercise alternative and is highly popular in reducing weight and staying fit. The practice of Yoga does not call for high monetary demands and with regular disciplined practice one can acquire desired results. Brisk walking is yet another alternative for improving the body’s blood circulation; activating the blood cells in the body in addition to helping lose excessive calories. Some forms of dance and aerobics are also believed to be highly effective in reducing weight and these forms of movement have the added benefit of being entertaining and a source of pleasure.
Include plenty of activities in your daily life that are fun and intense. Such activities that include running, bicycling, playing soccer or basketball or any form of sport is akin to a workout at a gym; moreover regular practice can also you become adept at the sport. Remember, exercise is a vital constituent to any successful weight loss program. physical activity kills insulin resistance. insulin resistance causes endocrinal gland unbalance, leading to less secretion of a hormone which converts fat to energy. That is what causes weight gain after menopause, pregnancy, C-section, slow menstrual cycles, scanty cycles etc. If you stop gym, replace activity by walking or swimming. Body parts which are used remain in good conditions. unused, they loose capabilities.
