Can castor oil make you go in early?
(26 Jun 2006)
Yes it can. Castor oil is a laxative. It works on the intestine quickly (usually within 2-6 hours) and promotes evacuation of bowel contents.
It is not recommended for frequent use to treat constipation as it can hamper nutrient and mineral absorption by the small intestine.

Taken orally, castor oil can cause diarrhea. Used topically, castor oil may reduce inflammation. Many health care practitioners use castor oil packs on the abdomen to stimulate immune function and for liver support. Interestingly, the castor bean is also the source of one of the most potent nerve poisons --ricin.
