Unfortunately, at this time, the only way to completely control type 1 diabetes is with insulin replacement therapy.
There are, however, many things you can do to help your body control diabetes on its own with natural alternatives.
  1. Lipoic Acid-Lipoic Acid is a super potent antioxident that helps control blood sugar and ward off the effects of diabetes.
  2. Biotin-Biotin is a very important nutrient that enhances your body's sensitivity to insulin, thus possibly lowering the amount of insulin a person with type 1 diabetes has to take.
  3. Carnitine-Carnitine lowers blood glucose levels and helps the body control blood sugar and insulin sensitivity.
  4. Chromium-Chromium is a trace mineral that has undergone extensive laberatory tests to discover the full range of its benefits. It was shown to be beneficial with both diabetics and cancer patients. For diabetics it helps the body metabolise sugar.
  5. DHEA- DHEA improves the body's insulin sensitivity and also helps balance out the hormones.
  6. Magnesium- Diabetics are notoriously deficient in magnesium. Without magnesium, the body slowly stops functioning properly. Especially important for diabetics, magnesium helps control blood sugar levels.
It might also be beneficial for you to visit a natural health specialist to find out about any other
natural remedies to help treat your type 1 diabetes.
