Cure for dog cataract: Could a dog's cataract be helped by putting drops of pure strained tomato juice in the eye? I heard that was a cure in the early days.

Try this: Prepare a sterile eye solution: Pick up sterine saline from a pharmacy. Dilute ½ saline and ½ cineraria using a tincture. Put in 1 drop two times a day into the affected eye. Be very careful not to touch or contaminate the eye dropper. Use this for 3 months to notice any results. Research studies show that antioxidant properties of vitamin C and vitamin E may protect against development and progression of cataracts. Tomatoes are good sources of vitamin C and you can surely give tomato juice to your dog to drink. But I would not recommend you to put drops of strained tomato juice in your dog’s eye. In my opinion, it could cause an adverse reaction and more problems. Please consult a vet about this.
