Neuritis Natural Remedies

I have excess acid in my blood and I have been diagnosed with neuritis. Are there any natural remedies to take with my medication to make myself better faster?

Yes, you can try a few natural remedies to complement the medicines. Let’s first understand what neuritis is.

Neuritis: This serious nervous disorder is caused by the inflammation of the nerves.

It could be a single nerve or a group of nerves, in one part of the body or in various parts of the body. Neuritis can lead to a loss of reflexes, weakness, and changed sensation.

Symptoms: Some of the symptoms include:

  • A burning, tingling and stabbing sensation in the nerves that have been affected
  • Loss of sensation and numbness
  • Paralysis in a few muscles around the nerve
  • Temporary paralysis of a part of the face, if facial nerves have been affected
  • In worst case scenarios, the patient may not be able to close his eyes
  • Patients affected by neuritis may not be easily able to walk in the dark

Causes of Neuritis: Neuritis is generally caused when there is excessive acid in the body fluids and in the blood. Naturally, body fluids should be of alkaline nature. But faulty foods patterns can cause acid waste to dorm on the tissues. When this continues for a long time, it can cause acidosis. Unhealthy lifestyles, eating habits and working too much can cause neuritis. Metabolic disturbances and nutritional deficiencies can also cause neuritis.

A nasty injury, a blow, a bruise or excessive pressure on the nerve or nerve trunk can cause neuritis too. Bone fractures, sprains or over-extension of the joint can cause neuritis. It can also happen from infections like leprosy, tetanus, diphtheria, tuberculosis, and diabetes. Alcohol, arsenic, lead, mercury and insecticide poisoning can cause neuritis.

Natural remedies: While you must consult a doctor and take the medicines that the physician prescribes, you can try a few simple home remedies to complement your treatment.

  • Mix a spoonful of honey in organic soy milk and drink it before going to bed. Soy milk is known to be rich in glutamic acid, vitamin B, and lechtin – these are good for the nervous system.

  • Make yourself a glass of spinach and carrot juice every day. These are packed with vitamins and minerals, which are not always found in adequate quantities in neuritis patients.

  • Give your body a boost by regularly taking supplements like vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12. Take pantothenic acid too.

  • Your diet should be rich in vegetables and fresh fruits. These provide the much needed nutrients. Avoid foods like meats, fried foods and processed foods than promote toxicity.
