The Dane particle is comprised of the sAg on the outer envelope, cAg on the inner envelope and eAg in the viral center. The persistence of HbsAg beyond six months means you are a carrier. Initially, HBsAg may no longer be present at the time of jaundice. A carrier state would have +HBsAg -HBsAb +HbcAb. A chronic immune supppressed state would reflect these same values. You will need to assess your own immune status and lifestyle to answer the "why" portion of your question. Dr. Karen Benton, NDwww.countrydoc.com
