Yeast infections do not delay a woman’s periods. If you are on a prescribed course of antibiotics to cure the yeast infection, the medication may be causing the delay in your periods. It would be best if you informed your doctor about it in order to resolve this problem.
The doctor may change your medication or determine if the delays are caused by any other problem. Please do get yourself examined as soon as possible to rule out any serious underlying issue. You can also get rid of the yeast infection with some home remedies. Yeast infections are caused by the candida fungus that survives on various parts of the human body. But because of problems like low immune level, menstrual periods, excessive consumption of birth control pills, and stress, the organisms multiply to a harmful level causing an infection. The infection can affect the underarms, the web between the toes, and especially the genital region. The infection causes itching, burning, and swelling in the genital area. It also causes vaginal discharge, a burning sensation during urination, and pain during sexual intercourse. To alleviate the problem, you need to keep a few things in mind. Do not wear tight clothes or underclothing. Also, make sure that your underclothing is always clean and dry, as the fungus increases in a damp environment. You must also avoid wearing synthetic undergarments. Wear only cotton ones instead.
You can cure a yeast infection with the help of apple cider vinegar. Dilute the vinegar in water and gently wash yourself with it. If you suffer from itching, you can steep a garlic clove in the vinegar and then wash yourself with the liquid. Vinegar and garlic both have antibacterial and antifungal properties that inhibit the growth of viruses. One of the easiest methods to treat the infection is drinking buttermilk at least twice or thrice a day especially at night. You can also draw a bath with a few drops of tea tree oil or a cup of vinegar and soak in it for 20 minutes. Avoid using douches as this will only aggravate your problem. If your problem persists, make sure that you visit a doctor as you may require a course of antibiotic medications.
