There are two possibilities.

Either Rheumatism is developing or diabetes can also show such symptoms. It is easier to check fasting blood sugar and serum insulin levels to assess the possibility that you are developing either insulin resistance or diabetes.

You should see that skin on outer side of fingers (the side which has nail) has turned brown or black. There may be some shine due to water retention also.

Stiffness, however gives greater indication of rheumatoid arthritis.

Here too, darker skin on nail side of fingers may be seen.

The ayurvedic remedy in such cases is "Sinhnad Guggulu" to be taken 2 tablets of 250 mg after meals, slight chew and swallow with warm water. Do not take this as medical advise though. Contact your family doctor before accepting this suggestion.

The oily, fried, soft carbs, bakery items, pickles, animal fats should be avoided. In legumes, green gram (Lentils) will cause least advance of the disorder.

Fruits and vegetable soups will help. Reduce wheat consumption and add Fruits which contain Vit B, C, E.

You may have a compression of the ulnar nerve as it passes through the "tunnel of Guyon", a fibrotic netting, at the underside of your wrist.  Often people who ride bicycles, etc.  and hold their hands in a particular position for long periods of time may develop this condition.  You can check with a trained health care practitioner who can diagnose and develop a good treatment plan, which may include exercises, hand massage, etc.  http://www.countrydoc.com
