Sleeping Disorder Treatment
I am suffering from sleeping disorder.I hardly sleep for 6 hours.Please tell me the solution

Sleep deprivation and sleeplessness are becoming increasingly common and problematic because of our fast paced lifestyles that often deny us the time for much needed sleep. Sleep disorders are another cause for the problem, and insomnia is just one of these disorders. Sleep disorders like insomnia can also develop because of stress and the same lifestyle that deprives us off time to relax and sleep.
Sleep deprivation is in a sense a warning sign. Your situation however seems strange, as six hours of sleep is the normal requirement for many individuals, although many others require seven to eight hours of sleep, with anything less leaving them feeling tired and exhausted. If you feel this way, and find that six hours are inadequate you could be developing a sleep disorder.
Almost all of us have experienced the occasional night of sleeplessness and not suffered much on account of it. But when the occasional night begins to fall into a pattern of increasingly frequent nights of sleeplessness or several consecutive nights then you have a serious sleeping problem on your hands. A repeated or prolonged loss of sleep can affect every area of your life, taking a toll on your physical, mental and emotional state. Prolonged sleep deprivation affects your daily performance and can even alter your personality.
Prescription medications that are recommended for sleeplessness are often simply a temporary solution, provide symptomatic relief, and most importantly are not completely safe as they pose certain health risks, particularly if taken regularly. Not all sleep disorders can be treated through natural methods however, and if you are suffering from a case of severe insomnia you may need medical help. Mild sleeplessness and insomnia are however best treated naturally at home.
The first thing you need to do, is to follow a disciplined lifestyle, with regular meals and sleep timings, without which no remedy or medication will solve your problem.
- Eat healthier – A balanced and healthy diet is as important for your sleep as for your health. Digestive problems like reflux, bloating or indigestion can contribute to or aggravate sleep problems. Eating four to five smaller meals instead of the normal two or three large ones will help. Make sure there’s a gap of two hours at least between your bed time and the last meal.
- Make sure that you spend at least the last hour before going to bed relaxing and de-stressing. Going to bed tense and with worries on your mind will only prevent sleep or cause disturbed sleep.
- Leave your work problems at the workplace and try to relax as soon as you get home. If there are domestic chores and problems schedule your evening time carefully and make it a point to spend some time relaxing and doing things you enjoy. An aromatherapy bath can be extremely relaxing and will help you drift of to sleep.
- At times a sedentary lifestyle can cause sleep disorders, and simply introducing some regular physical activity like walking or running can counter the problem.
- Take up meditative practices or a discipline like yoga. This will help relax and clear your mind and even help you consciously and willfully fall asleep. Yoga will not only improve your physical and mental health, but also give you greater control over your mind and body.
