Tea is a caffeinated drink. If you take tea with milk, then the poison gets sofftened. When you are going to help a soul take birth in our world, you would not like to poison this soul, would you? But if you are addicted to it for a long time, continue since withdrawl symptoms are constipation, headache, numbness, loss of hunger, lethargy, yawns etc. The withdrawl symptoms may last for a week, hence you can decide depending on where you are in 40 week schedule. Of course, pregnant women can drink teas. Herbs are some of the best sources of nutritional minerals. It just depends upon the herbal ingredients which are included in the tea. Generally, stimulating herbs are to be avoided in large quantities. Gentle and nutritive herbs such as chamomile, echinacea, gallium, anise, nettle, corn silk etc. can be used in moderation. Type in "herbs to avoid pregnancy" into your search engine, to obtain a complete list of herbs to be used sparingly in pregnancy. It's all a matter of balance. http://www.countrydoc.com Dr. Karen Benton, Naturopathic Physician
