Diet for High Triglycerides

Do you have a diet or herbal remedy that will lower triglycerides rather than using drugs that destroy your liver?

While the number of your triglyceride levels is a significant indicator of your general heart health, it is good to know that if you have a high level of triglycerides, you need not necessarily turn to medication to control it. Some significant changes in lifestyle will do the needful. However, the most important thing is that you would always have to be particular about sticking to these changes.

This may not always be easy, as it may involve giving up some off the things you have enjoyed so far. But it needs to be done if you want to remain free of medication that can not only cost you heavily but also become addictive over time. One of the first and most important things to do is add some form of mild exercise to your life. This will make a difference by helping to slowly lower your general cholesterol levels. Please do not start strong – it is important to start with something small such as a 20 minute walk every day. This can grow into a bigger and more strenuous regimen as time goes on. But remember that if you have a high triglyceride level, taxing yourself could actually result in a heart attack. So please be extremely careful about taking whatever stress you will with the exercise.

The next thing is to watch what you eat. Make it a rule to read the nutritional information provided on anything packaged you may want to buy. This would also include things such as cookies and biscuits and small snacks. You have to be extremely careful about sticking to the amount and type of fat content you are allowed in your daily diet. In fact, it is advisable for you to visit a dietician and determine a diet that will give precise readings. This way, you will easily be able to check yourself. If possible, maintain a food diary. If not for anything else, this will at least reveal to you how much you are eating of what you are prohibited from eating. This alone will be a significant change in your health plan. Add plenty of fresh and green vegetables to your diet. This will help by improving the general state of your health as well as keeping your weight under control. It is extremely important that your weight be at the optimal level allowed as per your age, height and the condition of your health.
