No, a goiter is simply a symptom of a thyroid imbalance.  However, if your metabolism is slow due to hypothyroid (slow functioning thyroid), your immune system is weak, and you have poor circulation  --it is possible you could have sores on your body due to a poor healing response--or you could have digestive insufficiency, an infectious disease, kidney imbalance, etc.  So, find out the cause of your sores, by consulting a trained health care practitioner. http://www.countrydoc.com
