Aches are a type of troublesome pain. Body aches include muscle strain, arthritis, illness, a chronic disease like fibromyalgia stomach aches (abdominal pain), earache, joint aches, backaches, or headaches. These aches could be associated with or caused by tiredness, fatigue, weakness, malaise, or fever.


For some short period body aches your body just requires time to heal or recover from an illness. For chronic pain, the key is learning to manage the pain, or find things you can do to lessen it, even for short periods of time. Constant problem of body aches could leave you feeling dull throughout the day.

As most aches are caused due to tiredness or strain as such it is best to give rest to your body. If you continue to put pressure on the body part that is aching, it will make matters worse. If your body is aching due to strenuous workouts then you could maybe do some light workouts which will not put pressure on the muscle or body part until you feel fine again. You could get a massage done with any ointment available from over the counter or advised by your doctor. This will help the muscles to relax and provide temporary relief from body aches. Taking a warm bath is also another good option to reduce the pain. You could prevent certain body aches that result from exercises. It is important that you warm up properly before you begin your workout, and stretch well after you've completed your workout. Keep in mind that some muscle soreness the day after a workout is a good sign as you're challenging your body, and thereby getting stronger. You could also visit a physiotherapist to give you some exercises that could manage chronic pain due to arthritis or fibromyalgia. Apart from all this you should also have a good sleep so that your body gets the required amount of rest and you feel fresh. Body aches could also be caused due to bad body posture. Hence it is necessary have the correct body posture especially to avoid backaches.
As most of us suffer from different kind of aches all throughout our lives it is important to visit the doctor if this pain is continuous or an ongoing process, because sometimes these aches could lead to something chronic.  Pain killers are available over the counter; however these do have some side effects hence consult a doctor before you can take any.
