While the eyes play a very significant role in our lives for the purpose of vision, they are also widely considered to be one of the most prominent aesthetic features of a person. Eye bags and eye puffiness are a very common occurrence and affect almost every individual at some point in their lives or the other. However, some individuals suffer from it more often than others.
In most cases, people will often see the presence of bags under the eyes just after they wake up in the morning. Some of the more common causes of this occurrence include a lack of sleep, or even drinking fluids at bedtime or eating salty food. There is also the fact that the condition happens to have some hereditary roots and is usually passed down from one generation to another within the same bloodline. Certain habits of the affected individual also play a role in deciding how prominent these eye bags are. Smoking, or suffering from some type of allergy are two factors that decide how prominent the condition is.
Because of the fact that eye bags are a very common problem, there are a number of home remedy treatments that have been developed all over the world and tested over a number of decades to have proven to be rather effective. However, the most important step to take, if you are serious about clearing the eye bags, is to allow your body to get enough of sleep on a daily basis. An average of 7 to 8 hours of sound, peaceful sleep is essential not only for your body and mind, but for your eyes as well. Potato slices are another very effective home treatment when dealing with under eye bags. All you need to do is cut two large slices, big enough to cover your eyes and place these slices in the refrigerator and allow them to chill for a while. After about 15 minutes, remove the slices from the fridge and place them over the eyes. Alternatively, you could also cut out a couple of slices of cucumber and use them in the same way as the potato treatment discussed previously. A few adjustments to your lifestyle will go a long way into preventing the development of eye bags. For example, increasing your intake of water keeps your body hydrated, thereby reducing the possibility of under eye bags. Reducing the intake of salt in your diet will also help significantly.
