In striving to get a flat stomach there are a few basic things that one needs to keep doing. What one eats and the way of eating is vital to get the flat stomach. The first step involves stopping the intake of processed and unhealthy snacks and only eating healthy foods in their place.
You need to make healthy decisions that would eventually contribute to your goals. Low calorie snacks that are healthy like yogurt, soy crisps, fruit, nuts, string cheese, and many other options are the best options in place of oily, fatty and rich foods.
There are various exercises that one can follow like leg raises. Lie down flat on your back on the bed and proceed to stretch your legs out straight ahead in front of you. Then raise them till they are perfectly perpendicular in relation to the floor then lower them gently till they are only a few inches away from the bed. Bicycle Crunches are another exercise that helps in flattening the stomach. Lie down on the ground on one’s back and the start raising both knees so that they are over the stomach and chest. Next stretch one leg out in front of your body and at the same time try to pull the other leg close in the direction of the chest. When the left leg has reached your chest then reach out and make your right elbow touch the left knee. This has to be done with your hands held behind your head. Remember to alternately work the arms and legs like this, so that the motion achieved is similar to that of cycling on a bicycle. Another useful exercise that is extremely beneficial in helping to flatten the stomach is the planks exercise. For this you need to lie down in a pushup sort of position but instead of placing your palms on the floor, try resting your upper forearms onto the ground. Then brace the abs and maintain this position for about 30 seconds, or till you are unable to hold on to this position any longer. Separately try other different styles that include side planks or incline planks. One of the other exercises used quite commonly in attaining the flat stomach are the toe touches. This exercise involves lying on the ground on your back and then raising the legs straight up in the air so that they are perpendicular to the ground. Next place your arms behind your head and proceed to reach up and touch the toes. To achieve this you will need to squeeze your abdominal muscles. Then go back to the starting position slowly and repeat the exercise again.
