The aesthetic appeal of an individual is becoming increasingly important in today’s world, being one of the primary conditions that can open up opportunities where the looks of an individual would never really be part of the requirement. This is merely highlighted by the fact that in any cosmetic store that you walk into, anywhere in the world, you are likely to be confronted by a large stock of beauty and fairness products. Moreover, the fact there are so many different types of solutions and lotions available for almost any kind of skin or appearance complication, not many people are expected to have an excuse of being satisfied with their natural appeal.

The occurrence of skin blemishes, however, has more to do with how you treat your skin before it gets to that condition rather than trying to help it once it has been considerably damaged. Two of the leading causes for the condition are acne and exposure of the skin to excessive sunlight and heat. When a person is affected by acne, the natural tendency is to try and scratch the affected area or even proactively burst the pimples. This is the action that causes most of the damage, as the scars left behind are likely to be permanent. The sun emits harmful ultra violet rays that have the ability to severely damage your skin, with a possible result of skin cell augmentation and even skin cancer. The coloring agent of the skin, known as melanin, contains some defensive properties that help the skin cope with these ultra violet rays. However, the darkness of the melanin is in direct relation to the amount of protection required by the skin. You may notice a difference of pigmentation from one spot on your face to another as a result of the excessive melanin collecting in certain parts of the skin.

Some ways of effectively reducing the prominence of the blemishes as well as the pigmentation are:
  • Gently massaging some watermelon on the blemished area for about 15 minutes on a regular basis.
  • To get rid of blemishes you could also try dabbing the affected area with some coconut water and leaving the solution on for about ½ an hour.
  • Since lime is considered to be a natural bleaching agent, you should try applying some lemon juice over any affected parts of the skin for about 20 minutes before your bath daily. This should provide a substantial reduction in the prominence of the blemishes and pigmentation after a few weeks.

You should describe whether spots are light colored (loss of pigmentation) or brownish, blackish etc. These have different causes as well as remedies.
