Home Remedy for Headache

Headache treatment
( 9 Feb 2010)

Headaches are one of the most common afflictions of humanity that nearly everyone has to go through but surprisingly, they are not completely understood either. While some of the causes of headaches are rather predictably related to some kind of brain trauma or reduction of blood supply, other causes of headaches like migraines are rather more mysterious. In most cases, the treatment of headaches is a rather simple matter of popping acetaminophen, acetylsalicylic acid, or ibuprofen.

When it comes to dealing with a headache, the first thing that you need to understand is whether the headaches are recurring, are connected to some other kind of anomaly, and how debilitating they are.

In medicine, there are headaches that range from the simple fatigue based headaches to the more bizarre headaches that are sometimes brought on by having an orgasm. There are mild headaches and headaches that can even leave you unconscious. In most cases, a headache that does not have a consistent pattern is not something to worry about. A lack of nutrition is also to be considered as a cause of a headache and can be cured by just having a full meal and simply taking a nap for a few minutes. It is worth understanding that sometimes a consistent headache is something that is symptomatic of a bigger problem like hypertension. For this reason, it is a good idea to check for blood pressure problems by either taking your blood pressure yourself or checking it with a doctor.

Some forms of headaches are usually connected to vision in some way and this can be caused by spending too much time under bright intense light or staring at a TV or computer screen for too long. This problem will eventually also result to some degree of vision loss so you must take note of this and see an ophthalmologist at some time. Treating a headache naturally is a matter of using some herbs like feverfew. This is a blood thinner and improves the circulation to the brain by dilating the blood vessels. This is one of the main herbs that are used in treating migraines. The regular consumption of ginger in tea is also useful in relieving headaches. The use of tea also improves the amount of antioxidants in your system. Getting more sleep is also a method of infusing natural antioxidants created in your body and probably also repairing some of the damage that is causing the headaches.
