Chicken pox is a viral infection, resulting in red bumps and soreness all over the body. Frequent baths with oatmeal is soothing and reduces scratching. Calamine lotion is the most commonly used creams.
Anti-histamines help in reducing scratching. Trimming of nails is beneficial, as scratching increases secondary infection.
