Treatment for swollen throat



A swollen throat is most often caused by bacterial infections that affect the throat. A swollen throat could also be a symptom of a common condition known as tonsillitis. Tonsillitis is basically a bacterial infection that affects the softy fleshy pads situated at the back of the neck. This infection causes the throat to swell and feel itchy.   • For another effective remedy you can consume turmeric mixed with honey. Turmeric contains anti bacterial and anti fungal properties, and honey helps in soothing the throat inflammation. Add 2 pinches of turmeric powder to a teaspoon of honey and consume this mixture thrice a day in order to notice positive results.
  • You may also add one teaspoon of turmeric to a glass of milk and drink this solution before going to bed at night.
