It is a wise preventive measure to use sunscreen lotion with SPF factor of at least 30 that offers protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Using a sunscreen with a low SPF will not provide sufficient protection from ultraviolet radiation especially if there is overexposure to the sun. Excessive exposure to the sun can trigger skin cancer and wrinkled skin. These can be easily avoided with proper precautions when outdoors.
Try these home remedies: Aloe vera juice is also useful in many cases. Keep the affected area moist with aloe vera juice and repeat frequently to reduce pain and extent of peeling.  It is beneficial to use olive oil side by side as aloe vera has an astringent effect.
A good idea would be to mix aloe juice with ½ the amount of vitamin E. Vitamin E is a good moisturizer. Dab this on the sunburn.
