Obesity is becoming a very serious problem today and has reached epidemic proportions. The number of obesity cases has been rapidly increasing within the last few decades. This is generally thought to be due to an increase in junk food consumption as well as poor dietary habits.

Life itself seems to be very fast paced with almost no time for relaxation. The number of sedentary jobs has also increased tremendously which means that more people now spend a huge part of their day seated in front of a computer. Cooking healthy food is regarded as a waste of time since one can just pick up the phone and have food delivered to their doorstep!

A healthy diet and a good exercise plan are essential for healthy weight loss. A very stringent and restrictive plan is not advisable as the sudden shock can have adverse results on the body. There are also a few simple home remedies for obesity that will help to get rid of the excess weight. Lemon juice and honey has been seen to be very effective in treating obesity. This is because the lemon juice helps to mobilize fat in the body so that it can be used easily and thus expended. The honey in this remedy helps to provide your body with several nutrients and amino acids. Mix the lemon juice and honey in a glass of warm water and have this as soon as you wake up. Make sure that you do not eat anything for at least an hour after consuming this juice.

Most people who suffer from obesity have a large appetite. This appetite will not disappear overnight and instead of trying to cut down on the amount of food you eat, just, make sure that you eat healthier options. Once you are used to your new healthy diet, you can slowly start cutting down on portion sizes. Have at least one or two glasses of Psyllium husk mixed in water every day. Psyllium husk is made of water soluble fiber and does not contribute to your daily calorie intake. It is a very effective home remedy as it helps to increase your daily fiber intake which in turn speeds up the use of fat within your tissues. It also helps to reduce food cravings as it can leave you feeling satiated for long periods of time. As per your exercise schedule, you should talk it out with both your doctor as well as your fitness instructor so that you follow a plan that is safest for your condition.
