Why is blood in my stool?
( 9 May 2007)
Blood in stool can be due to various reasons, some might be harmless and temporary while others can be sign for a serious underlying problem like piles, hemorrhoids, anal fissure, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular bleeding, and peptic ulcer or simply due to any undigested food pigment or unabsorbed iron supplements. Consult a specialist to investigate the cause and treat the cause, as blood in stool is rarely normal.
