House flies make up 98 percent of the insects that invade the house. The common fly and its varieties are small, pesky pests that carry all kinds of diseases like E.coli, typhoid fever, polio, cholera and other communicable infections.
Let’s look at how to kill house flies in an infestation. You need to ensure you maintain a clean house. Keep your kitchen sink dry. Wash and dry all the mops for your kitchen. Cover all garbage, including your recycling bin. Keep no food open. Stock whatever is not being used. Refrigerate everything else. Keep and doors and windows well protected. Empty your pet’s litter box.
While cleaning out the house flies, you need to even destroy the breeding grounds. Before you decide to remove the flies, the first step is to clean all the areas around the house that could cause a house flies infestation. Stagnant water, compost bins, natural fertilizers and garbage stored, all act as breeding grounds for house flies which breed very fast. Clean your surroundings. Dispose anything that can grow mold on it. It is important to clean the breeding grounds as it is easier to get rid of a few adult flies than it is of a whole batch of larvae and maggots. This is how to get rid of house flies infestation.

Mango peel in the bottom of a wine bottle can catch many a flies. A ripe fruit in the oven too can do the job. In both cases the flies die of suffocation but cleaning later can be a mess. You can also use a fly paper that is a paper coated with a mixture of corn syrup and water. Flies tend to get caught on such sticky mixtures. You can stick cones of such fly paper all over the house and remember to periodically change these fly paper cones.
Another foolproof technique is using a bottle, cider vinegar, sugar and water. Coat a bottle’s mouth with cider vinegar and sugar and lure the flies in. The water in the bottle will definitely drown the flies. You can keep multiple such traps around the house.
Poke a few cloves in to an apple and have it lying around. You are sure not to see any flies. Spraying flies with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water is also very helpful. Controlling house flies helps get rid of house flies. Flies depend upon warm and damp weather to develop so ensure that you do not have leaking pipes or damp carpeting.
There are home remedies to get rid of house flies. There are ways of getting rid of house flies naturally, without using chemical, with vinegar. Fill a home spray bottle with a white wine vinegar and water mixture and spray it on the flies. Another homemade trap is a small dish of white wine with detergent in it. Growing basil in a pot and keeping cut basil around the house repels flies. Eucalyptus leaves can be burned out side to discourage flies. Mint and basil plants growing as a natural fence serves to repel flies from entering. Potpourri of dried mint and basil leaves also does the trick. A natural repellent can be created from essential aromatherapy oils. Add drops of lavender, tea tree oil and vegetable glycerin apple cider vinegar and use it as a repellent for flies. You can even use eucalyptus oil, diluted with water, as a spray to keep flies away. You can also leave only one small light on in the room and as the flies gravitate to the lights, you can swat away.
