Treatment for diaper rash

How do I know if my 17 month old son has a bad diaper rash or a yeast infection? He is on an antibiotic and has had yeast infections previously when on the antibiotic. The treatments are different and I don't wan to make worse

He has been using Diaper for quite long, but rash has occured only after anti-biotic. The antibiotics kill friendly lactobasillus acidophyllus bacteria in the guts, so the feces delivered have no resistance to yeast. Now yougurt is an excellent home remedy for yeast infection, but now a days, milk allergies, lactose intolerance are the issues which surface when such remedies are proposed. But if you add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder to half a cup yogurt and give your sone twice or thrice a day, allergic reaction would not arise. Alternatively, you may try probiotic capsules, at least 50 million cells per dose. Of course then it is no longer home remedy since you will have to step out of house to buy those capsules.

Many remedies for yeast infection can be read by clicking on Yeast Infection button on right side of the home page of this site.

Author will mention one more remedy which uses sesame oil. Apply a mixture of 1 tbsp sesame oil, 2 pinches sea salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric to inflamation/itching area of your son.

Sesame oil  is naturally antibacterial for common skin pathogens, such as staphylococcus and streptococcus as well as common skin fungi, such as athlete's foot fungus. It is naturally antiviral. It is a natural anti inflammatory agent.
You will appreaciate its power if you read that sesame seed oil has inhibited the growth of malignant melanoma (a skin cancer): [PROSTAGLANDIN LEUKATRINES and ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS 46: 145-150,1992] Also it has inhibited replication of human colon cancer
cells: [ANTI CANCER RESEARCH 11: 209-216, 1992.]

Most important is diet, avoid refined sugar, soft carbs, condiments etc which allows yeast to thrive.
