Peeling Dry Skin Treatment
The skin on the palms of my hands and the bottoms of my feet just started to peel about a week ago. It does not really hurt but it looks terrible and it is annoying. I am a 22 year old female and I have an hyperactive thyroid.

Peeling skin can be a very unattractive and annoying problem. In addition to this, it can also make the skin more susceptible to skin infections. If you have peeling skin, you need to ensure that you take care of your feet and follow a few important foot care procedures.
There are many people who suffer from this problem either due to a medical condition or due to the medications they take to remedy their condition. You will have to check if this problem is one of the side effects that are associated with the medication. If it is, you can talk to your doctor about alternative treatments.
Make sure that you do not stop your medications without first consulting your doctor.
There are several home remedies for peeling skin that you can use to moisturize your skin and protect it from peeling. Do not peel off any bits of dry skin as this can tear into the deeper layers of skin and cause your skin to bleed. Use a gentle foot scrub on a daily basis as this will help to get rid of the excess skin on your feet and leave it soft and smooth. You can make your own natural foot scrub out of ground peanuts, olive oil and lemon juice. Coarsely grind a handful of these nuts and add enough olive oil and lemon juice to it so that you get a thick paste. While the powdered nuts are rough and help to exfoliate your skin, the olive oil will help to moisturize it. The lemon juice in this foot scrub is acidic in nature and will help to get rid of the upper layers of dead skin. This scrub also contains various vitamin and amino acids and fortifies the skin and strengthens it and prevents it from damage. Make sure that you keep your skin well moisturized at all times. After a shower, use a mild natural moisturizer on your feet as this will prevent the escape of the moisture from within your skin. Mix a drop each of lavender oil and virgin coconut oil to a few teaspoons of warm water. Pour this mixture into a bottle and shake the bottle well and then apply this to your skin. The lavender oil will help to prevent skin infections and the coconut oil will help to moisturize your skin and prevent peeling.
Follow these remedies for at least a week and if your problem persists, visit a dermatologist for an in-depth skin analysis and treatment.
