Cholera is a water-borne disease caused by consumption of food or water contaminated by the bacterium vibrio cholerae leading to severe infection of the intestine. Early symptoms include mild diarrhea followed by nausea, vomiting and cramps.

Although the mortality rate for this disease is high it can not be classified as a “bad disease”, because if adequate precautions are taken and appropriate treatment is given then this disease can be easily prevented.
